| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | HM QUEEN ELIZABETH II | | | | | | | |
| | | | | | |
| | | | | | 21 April 1926 – 8 September 2022 | | | | | | |
| | | | | | | | Dear parents
It is with enormous sadness and the utmost respect that on behalf of our Bedian Family I convey our condolences to His Majesty the King and all of the Royal Family at this time.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was in every respect ‘our Monarch’. In this time of national grief we also give thanks that we have had the privilege of Her Majesty as our Queen - a constant pillar of leadership, courage, compassion, determination and above all service.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Royal family. With our students tomorrow we will observe two minutes of silence at 12 o'clock. We also extend the invitation to our parents to join us from the distance and if you want to at 9am you are most welcome to join us for Mass with the L4 which will be offered up for the Queen and the Royal Family.
Yours sincerely
Mrs. Maria Kemp Headteacher | | | | | | | |

| | | | | | | | | Headteacher's Welcome | | | | |
| | | |
| | | | | | | | Dear Families, Welcome to St. Bede's. This week on Thursday we celebrated the Feast Day of Our Lady’s birthday, a woman whose saying YES to God transformed the history of mankind.
Our pupils have enjoyed their own year group welcome Mass and have started on our unique Harvard and Oxford program on leadership through Character Development.
The virtue of the month is order and there are different targets appropriate to the age of the pupils. Please let the tutor of your child know if your child is leaving this virtue at home for House Points to be awarded.
As a team we have been working very hard to prepare a truly exciting and transforming year and we look forward to sharing it with you at Tutor-information evening.
Please know that your interest and support are valued and that your concerns are important to me and the rest of the Leadership Team.

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Welcome from the Head of Sixth Form | | | | | | | |
| | | |
| | | | | | | | It has been an absolute pleasure to welcome our Sixth Form back to College after the summer holiday. Our new Upper Sixth are now the leaders of the school, and are looking forward to implementing their initiatives for improving student experience. Our Lower Sixth comprises of returning Bedians and a number of students who are commencing their studies with us in the Sixth Form; they are looking forward to their special team building day on Tuesday 20th September!
This week we have hosted Sixth Form talks from two organisations. On Tuesday, representatives from CAFOD spoke to our students about their organisation's work, and gave them details of the CAFOD Young Leadership Programme. On Wednesday, Jess from Citywise gave a presentation about mentoring opportunities for students in local primary schools. We have made a brisk start but will continue to provide exciting opportunities for personal growth outside of the classroom throughout the year. Mr Dominic Rose Head of Sixth Form

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Welcome from the Heads of House (2022 - 2023) | | | | | | | |
| | | |
| | | | | | | | This year there are some new faces in the Head of House team - we are excited to work with you and cannot wait to get going with all of the charity events and assemblies for this coming academic year! Miss Moore will be taking over as Head of Siena, Mr Piskorz for Head of Campion, Mr Henderson as Head of Bosco and Mr Wilson is continuing as Head of Magdalene. The first competition we will be launching is the 'House Prayer' competition where we will be asking students to submit ideas of prayers that we can use as our 'House Prayer'. Winners will be awarded House Points, have their prayers put up in the chapel and have their winning prayer said at every assembly and House Mass. We cannot wait for the year ahead! | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Welcome from the Head Girl & Head Boy | | | | | | | |
| | | |
| | | | | | | | Firstly we would like to say it is lovely to see everyone back at the College, as well as many new faces. With so many improvements over the summer, the school feels like a new place! However the core values of being a Bedian still ring true: we strive to be committed to our studies and to each other, to seek inspiration and to be grateful for the opportunities we have been given. This year our aim is to honour the Bedian family spirit by creating stronger connections between all students. We hope this is a successful year for all. Katy C (Head Girl), John T (Head Boy) | | | | | | | | | | | | |
